You will need:
Fabric Scraps
Jingle Bells
1" Wooden Plug
Ultra Fine Sharpie
Acrylic Paints
1/8" Birch Plywood
1/2" Birch Plywood
3/4" Pine
1/4" Dowel Rod
E6000 Glue
Hot Glue
Clear Acrylic Matte Sealer
Cutting instructions:
Cut the base (5 1/4" x 3 1/2") from 3/4" pine. Cut the elf's body from 1/2" birch plywood. Cut the
hat brim and the sign with hands from 1/8" birch plywood. Drill all holes. Sand smooth and
wipe with a damp cloth.
Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic paint:
Barn red, butter cream, pine green, black, dark brown, Santa's flesh.
Painting instructions:
Paint the elf's hat and shirt pine green. Paint the border on the sign and the elf's shoes barn red.
Paint the pants midnight blue. Paint the elf's face, hands and nose Santa's flesh.
Painting details:
Shade the face, hands, hat brim, and the sign with dark brown. Shade the shoes and the border
on the sign with a mix of barn red and a drop of black. Shade the hat, shirt and pants with black.
Paint the candy cane barn red. Paint the plaid on the hat, stripes on the pants and the candy
cane with butter cream. Dry brush the elf's cheeks and nose with barn red. Do the lettering and
the elf's mouth with an ultrafine permanent marker. Dot the lettering with black.
Assembly:
Glue the elf to the base using dowel rods to make it more secure. Hot glue the bow and the bells
on. Glue the sign, hat brim and nose to the elf. Spray with clear acrylic matte sealer.
